In a world of lies – what’s really true? Teens today have a lot of questions and aren’t getting very many biblical answers. Sometimes parents aren’t really sure how to answer their questions. Well, at Lakeside, we believe that you can get answers for every question and problem in life from God’s Word, the Bible. The Bible not only tells where we came from and why we are here, but where we are going. From the Bible, teens begin learning that God is really on their side, that He loves them, and has a plan for their lives. We aren’t afraid of their questions, because the Bible has answers.
There are a lot of people who think that Christians can’t have any fun, or at least shouldn’t have fun. That’s just not true. We have all kinds of fun. The difference is, the kind of fun we have that won’t get you drunk, high, pregnant, infected, or arrested. It’s the kind of fun you can have with a clear conscience – the kind that creates good memories, hilarious moments, and close friendships.
Everyone wants good friends – the kind of friends who will be there for you when you really need them. The common bond is that we all want to know God personally and live out His purposes in our lives. If you’re tired of pretending to be someone so that other people will accept you…quit playing the game. Quit risking your future for someone else’s approval. You will find real friendships and support in a loving church family.
Awana Youth Ministries™ grounds students in a lasting biblical faith and equips them to share their faith as they serve others in their churches and communities.
Using Awana’s proven 2 to 18 ministry approach, our Trek (middle school) and Journey (high school) ministry programs dynamically teach the truth of God’s Word so that a young person develops a biblical worldview that impacts every aspect of their life.
The Trek program for middle school and junior high students answers the questions that these students are asking during this pivotal stage of life. It encourages young teenagers to recognize their DESTINY in Christ and to pursue it by following God’s will for the rest of their lives.
The Journey program challenges high school students to make life-changing decisions from a godly PERSPECTIVE. Through a deep study of God’s Word, they learn the meaning of lifelong discipleship and are mobilized to serve their church and community.
