Kind of Church

Choosing a Church

There are a lot of “churches” out there but they don’t all look the same. Our goal in all that we do as a church is to please Christ first. As a result, every Sunday is an opportunity for an inspiring time of worship.

Where does the church meet?

Lakeside meets at 17667 N. 91st Ave in Peoria (Sonoran Science Academy), on the east side of 91st Avenue, just north of Bell Road, one mile from Loop 101 (Exit 14, Bell Road).  Need directions? Click here.

What is there for my kids?

Starting with a clean nursery for children age two and younger, there is something special for every age child. For children three years old to sixth grade there are Bible-centered Sunday school classes on Sundays (9:45-10:15a) and Awana Club on Wednesdays (Sept-May).  During the Worship Service there is a children’s program (10:15-11:15a) which includes a Bible lesson, music, learning activities, and games geared to help them grow spiritually.

When are your services and what are they like?

Our Worship Service, Sundays at 10:00a, involves a blend of spiritual songs and hymns followed by an expositional Bible message—the primary focus of the service. Our Family Bible Hour on Sunday evenings at 5:30p is a service for the entire family to grow together in God’s Word through practical teaching and preaching.  On Wednesdays at 7:00p, we have a prayer meeting and Bible study for adults.  For children, we have an Awana Club on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:15p.

Do I have to dress up?

No. We do not have a dress code for members or guests. While some dress up, others dress casual. Whichever your preference, we want you to be comfortable and know that you are welcome at Lakeside Baptist Church.

Will I be obligated to give money?

No. We do collect an offering at our services. However, giving is an act of worship for those who call Lakeside their home.  We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace.  So, be our guest without feeling any obligation to participate in the offering.

Will I be asked to do anything?

Everyone who attends Lakeside, receives a weekly news bulletin that contains details and events going on at the church. Along with the news bulletin, there is a “Connection Card” that gets used for a lot of things like updating phone numbers, prayer request and other forms of contact. If you’re a guest, just fill out as much information as you feel comfortable with.  Our Pastor would like to send a note thanking you for taking the time to visit.  As a guest you’ll also receive a gift bag as you leave.
